Yasu City and the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland enjoyed a school-based cultural exchange last year. The children in Yasu found it to be a very interesting and enjoyable experience. This year, to help them, and all residents of Yasu learn more about Northern Ireland, we decided to hold this English Haiku competition.

Happily we received around 100 entries for this contest. We enjoyed reading all of them, and have finally finished the judging process. Certificates and prizes have been sent to the winners and runners-up in both the adult and U-16 groups. These should be delivered in early March.

We will display the English haiku we received at Yasu Library in early June, so please check our website and social media channels for photos of that exhibition.
